Generally, my hourly rate is around $30 per hour, more than half the cost of a bigger design house (or what you would pay in a recording studio). But again, I tend to look at project cost rather than keeping track of billable hours.

Video projects are not cheap--not because my hourly rate goes up, but due to the time involved and possible equipment rentals if filming is required (i.e. lighting, cameras). As an example, I was involved in filming, editing, and mastering a 30 minute instructional video. We charged $2000 for this project. Roughly 80 hours of work went into this (planning, set-up, filming, editing, re-editing, etc.) and the remaining amount went to materials cost. However, my fees still undercut comparable video services.

Again, my focus is to provide gigging musicians professional quality services at a fraction of the cost. You can get something that looks great, works well, and is affordable. There are limits to what I currently do (I don't do database work, for example), but this is what allows you to save and maximize your dollar.
